A/Prof White is the Director of Research and Program Co-Director ESCM at Prince of Wales Hospital. He has been head of the department of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism since 2007 and a senior staff specialist at POWH since 2004. He was awarded his PhD in molecular endocrinology at the Garvan Institute in 1997 and maintains strong links with the Bone Program at the St Vincent's campus through shared research projects currently focussed on the interface between osteoporosis and diabetes. He has automated data capture, storage and transfer of osteoporosis clincis at the Royal Hospital for Women and built clinical decision support tools for osteoporosis management in primary care. More recently he has introduced natural language processing of radiology reports for identificiaiton of patients with fracture and network analysis of the SESLHD research office data environment. His career objective are to improve data access for research and clinical trials recrutiment, make research in the clinical setting easier to do and improve teaching, training, mentorship, career placement and funding streams for the next generation of clinician researchers in SESLHD and its SPHERE partners.
