Satya Amirapu is a Senior Technologist and a Medlab Scientist, practicing in the Histology laboratory at The University of Auckland. She has 20 years of New Zealand histology experience, whilst working in commercial and Histology laboratories in Auckland. Satya serves the histology needs of University staff and students as well as external customers like Upside Biotechnologies Ltd, NIWA, Auckland Zoo and Otago University to name a few. Her expertise also extends to some collaborative efforts with ADHB and the University of Auckland, especially in relation to post mortem Brain pathology diagnosis. Her support now extends to the Auckland Regional Tissue Bank, an Auckland Academic Health Alliance collaboration. She has recently started her PhD in Surgery and is passionate about her subject and histology thereof. Her interest is in Chronic Rhinosinusitis (CRS) and environment. Her talk will deal with her experience with CRS tissues. Satya is interested in meditation and porcelain artwork. She is an avid reader of non-fiction books and autobiographies. She is a proud New Zealand citizen and her two children who have followed her passion for science and environment.
