Associate Professor Kathryn Stok is Deputy Head of Department (Research) and Head of the Integrative Cartilage Research Group in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Melbourne. Dr Stok holds a PhD in Biomedical Engineering from ETH Zurich, Switzerland. Her research explores quantitative microstructural imaging (computed tomography) including over 20 years academic experience in Europe and Australia. She has extensive experience developing in vivo and ex vivo imaging-based techniques for hard and soft biological tissues in 3D at different length scales, with current ARC DP and Belgian Fonds de la Recherche Scientifique projects, to develop quantitative image analysis methods to better understand and treat arthritis. Her research involves collaboration with clinical and commercial partners. Dr Stok currently serves as a member of the ARC College of Experts and President of the Quantitative Musculoskeletal Imaging (QMSKI) workshop.
